Monaco first anthem dates back to 1841. The first lyrics was used as a marching song. This anthem was adopted in 1867. In 1931, the new lyrics was written in Monegasque language, the native language of Monaco. The official lyrics was only one verse but the instrumental of the anthem was heard more often.
