The project that I have created for this year was inspired by the devastating effects of the construction site and a Baobab Tree from the Little Prince. When I first learned about the creatures called Baobab tree from the book, it inspired me to build a house inside the tree, which will reduce the deforestation and negative effects of construction sites at the same time. After some research about the Baobab tree and effects of construction sites on the environment, I started my project. I believe that my project will have positive effects in the world and make my dream come true, which is creating a world where animals and humans can cooperate as a member of Earth. There are four main functions located outside of the house. It will measure the brightness through a sensor, and open and close automatically. Second function is recycling slides. The slide is connected to the window, to the recycling bin on the ground. When a person living inside the house places trash on the slide, the ranging sensor will detect the trash and start voice recognition. When a person says a type of the trash, for example, plastic, the servo motor will tilt the slide based on the type of the trash to aim the trash into the recycling bin. The third function is a water spraying machine. It will collect the rainwater and spray the water on the ground whenever the soil is dry. The fourth function is the feeding machine. Because there are a lot of endangered animals that live near the Baobab Tree’s habitat, it would help a lot to feed the animals. The machine will ring an alarm when certain time passes, which will indicate the person inside the house to fill the food and water bowl. The animals will visit the house and will be able to supply their sources for food and water. To conclude, I have created this house for this year’s MakeX competition. I hope my project will make my dream come true, and have a positive effect of creating the ideas of creative and eco-friendly houses.
