For best experience, use full screen mode. Drawing is done with the mouse cursor while holding down the left mouse button. By holding down the spacebar you open the slider menu for customizing the brush. The "B" key changes the background grid for easier drawing. The "L" key allows you to draw straight lines. You'll have to practice a little to use the "L" key. To clear everything, you just need to restart the application.
