In 1922 when the country German Empire was abolished, the Weimar Republic was formed, So the main anthem was adopted. In 1933, that one 'party' went power, resulting to form a Third Reich. Although they still continued to use this anthem. But later in 1945, the Third Reich was abolished by these 4 countries: UK, USA, Soviet Union and France.
