During my research on my MakeX Spark Project, I found some problem and interesting information: • Food waste is a global problem. • Food waste cause climate change The UN food and Agriculture Organization estimates that globally almost 1/3 of food produced for consumption never gets eaten, that is 1.3 billion tons of wasted food. Pollution Control Department in Thailand report have food waste 64% of all waste or 245 kgs / person / year. The amount of solid waste generated in Bangkok tends to increase continuously. The highest volume was 3.91 million tons or 10,705 tons per day, accounting for 17% of the total waste generated in the country. Discarded food is not only a waste of the resources that went into producing it, it's bad for the climate too. Organic trash left to rot at dumpsites releases methane, a powerful greenhouse gas that is much more effective than CO2 at trapping heat. The United Nations also wants to halve food wastage by 2030 as part of its 17 Sustainable Development Goals toward a more sustainable and equal world. The lesson I personally learnt was that while developing our country, we must give top priority to our concern excessive food waste and management of food waste by develop smart compost machine for zero waste.
