Our world is losing different species at an alarming rate, and current methods of monitoring them are slow, laborious, and sometimes even disrupt the animals. Like when researchers have to enter animal habitats to track them or install cameras that might frighten the animals. We have developed a solution using mBot Neo, which we've named 'Forest Guardian'. Forest Guardian uses mBot Neo's image classification feature to recognize and classify different species. It's like the robot is becoming a virtual park ranger! It can also identify if there's a hunter carrying a weapon in the forest, which is crucial to prevent illegal hunting. It also shares information about the species and alerts about any potential threats. Forest Guardian can send all this data to a cloud database in real time. This means anyone interested in biodiversity can access the data anytime, anywhere. It even has a feature to detect illegal logging. It monitors vibrations on trees that could indicate the use of saws or heavy machinery. We believe Forest Guardian can significantly aid in monitoring biodiversity without disturbing the natural habitats of these fascinating creatures.
