Hello, my name is Kailey Kim, and this is my new project, care consol. Care Consol is a device to motivate users into a more beneficial and healthier diet routine. When dieting, it is very easy falling off track and participating in dangerous diet plans. However, this device will always be there to back down into the right path whenever you need it. We find ourselves in a world where for the first time in history, more people die from eating too much than eating too little, and when individuals dislike their body image, people find suicide is a way out. Approximately 45 million Americans go on a diet each year. And 80% of American girls have been on a diet by the time they're 10 years old. And those who are in Korea seem to start earlier than 10. According to a National Health and Nutrition Examination survey in 2013–2016, 37.6% of adolescents aged 16–19 tried to lose weight in the past year. Among adolescents, weight loss percentages resulted with females scoring 45.2% and males with 30.1%. In many cases, obesity and weight are usually found in urban areas such as cities, as food production and food shortages have been solved. With abundant food resources, many want to balance their diets. Due to abnormal consumption of food, people have found themselves in situations where a diet is needed. Lots find keeping motivated hard, especially adolescents. Covid has also restricted many things such as socializing, going outside and interactions, which could keep a person very unmotivated, hence the ‘blue depression’. My goal is to change the perspective of what a diet is, and move one step closer to benefitting, and hopefully step forward to the brighter future of society and dieting.
